Brief synopsis: Jay seemingly had the perfect life until two years ago. Traumatized by the events of that night, she cut ties with her boyfriend and best friends and now lives a fairly solitary life. That is, until she meets Kane.
What I thought: A warning first – this book contains some very strong content and is not recommended for anyone under the age of 17.
This book was recommended based on Beautiful Disaster and Hopeless so I wasn’t expecting a light storyline but this was something else – it was a traumatic read but a gripping one too – I felt compelled to keep on reading.
Due to the nature of the story, it was quite hard to relate to Jay at times and the fact that the writing and storyline kept me reading is a credit to the author. I can’t wait to read Ruining You when it is released at the end of the month.
“‘Oh my God, he is so hot. Seriously fuckable. He’s about six foot two with dark buzzed hair. He’s got amazingly cut arms, and don’t even get me started on his stomach. One night he pulled his t-shirt up, and he’s got a serious six pack. Oh, and his butt? You could bounce a quarter off it.'”
