Why: Sequel to Ruining Me
Rating: 5 stars
Brief synopsis: After her failed suicide attempt, Jay makes a promise to live but will she realise there is more to living than just existing?
What I thought: I held out for nearly a month before reading Ruining You because I wasn’t sure I could deal with another traumatic book so soon after the first one. But, at the same time, I was also a little worried that this one could be the complete opposite and end up being a little boring – how much more drama can Jay have in her life?
Fortunately, this book did not disappoint. Just the right amount of drama and a lovely ending. The perfect conclusion to Ruining Me.
“‘You want the truth? Those two years you could have ended your life, but you didn’t because you wanted to live. You weren’t looking for a way out, Jay. You were looking for a way back in.'”
