Read: 6 March 2013 (originally September 2012)
Why: Sequel to the amazing Thoughtless
Rating: 5 stars
Brief synopsis: When the D-Bags are offered the chance of a lifetime – a six month coast to coast tour – Kellan worries that history may be repeating itself. Can Kiera and Kellan trust each other enough to allow him to follow his dreams?
What I thought: Effortless follows Kiera and Kellan as their relationship progresses, with the story focusing on how the couple learn to trust each other as much as they love each other. Whilst there is not as much drama as there was in Thoughtless, it’s the perfect sequel.
Kellan Kyle is back and he’s sweeter, sexier and more passionate than before! Yes, it sounds impossible but the bathroom scene is HOT! I actually started to like Kiera in this book too – she’s a bit more ballsy.
I’m just so relieved I didn’t come across the Thoughtless series until late 2012. A single dose of Kellan would never have been enough and luckily only a few months to wait for Reckless. You have to feel for the fans that have been reading the series since it was released – it took nearly 4 years to release the trilogy – I’d have gone mad if I’d have had to wait that long!
“‘Is that good-looking boy with you?’
Shaking my head, I murmured, ‘No, ma’am.’ A little sadly I added, ‘He had to leave town for a while.’
The grandmother patted my arm consolingly. ‘Well that’s too bad.’ She leaned in to whisper, ‘He was very easy on the eye.’ I giggled as the woman leaned back. Yes, Kellan was very easy on the eye…effortless to look at. Shrugging her sagging shoulders, she added, ‘His bottom was very nice, too.'”
